Update (August 1, 2016):   Aloha! As a small restaurant with limited seating, we are extremely grateful for the response to 'āina. 

A few things to note:

*Brunch reservations are available for online booking 14 days in advance via Resy, and open up at midnight. We do not take same-day reservations. We set aside a good number of our available seats for walk-ins on a first-come-first-serve basis, until we reach capacity.  For shorter wait times, we suggest coming early or later in the day during weekends, or on weekdays (especially Wednesday and Thursday).

*A reservation is strongly recommended for large groups of 5–8 people, as we only have one table large enough to seat a group of that size and they are generally booked up in advance (especially on weekends). The maximum number of people we can seat together is 8.

*We do not allow outside food or beverage (excluding wine for corkage) to avoid risk of cross contamination or allergies. We do not offer a cake cutting service; we have great dessert options such as malasadas and french toast that we will gladly put a candle in to celebrate special occasions. 

*We have a limited take-out menu, which is available only for in-person orders and at our discretion, as we want to make sure the kitchen has capacity before taking any additional orders. (We reserve the right to refuse large volume orders for example via delivery services like PostMates). The exception is Malasadas, for which we do take advance orders by the dozen for pickup on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 9 and 10am. *We are not always able to answer our phone during the service, so try emailing us or texting back via Resy if you have a confirmed reservation.

*Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate vegan or gluten intolerant diners, as many of our products are marinated inhouse with soy, plus we make breads and pastries with flour inhouse.

Our Philosophy:

āina is a Hawaiian word meaning the land which feeds us.

Aloha! ‘āina is a modern Hawaiian food concept that serves food with a distinct Hawaiian influence with a breath of the classics. Everything we serve is from the land and rooted in what the land has given to us. We cook with the seasons and with love, using fine dining techniques and local ingredients from the Bay Area as well as specially imported ingredients from Hawai'i. The ‘āina concept strives to be a love letter to the islands, by merging the attraction of Hawaiian-inspired cuisine, the warmth and hospitality of the island spirit with a refined sensibility and great service in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

SPECIAL ORDERS
