Update (August 1, 2016):   Aloha! As a small restaurant with limited seating, we are extremely grateful for the response and demand to 'āina. 

A few things to note:

*Brunch reservations are available for online booking 14 days in advance via Resy. We do not take same-day reservations. A good number of seats for walk-ins are always set aside on a first-come-first-serve basis, until we reach capacity.  For shorter wait times, we suggest coming early or later in the day during weekends, or on weekdays (especially Wednesday and Thursday).

*It is our policy to not allow outside food or beverage (excluding wine for corkage) to avoid risk of cross contamination or allergies. We do not offer a cake cutting service. We have great dessert options such as malasadas and french toast that we can gladly put a candle in to celebrate special occasions. 

*A reservation is strongly recommended for any large groups of 5-8pp, as we only have one table large enough to seat a group of that size and they are generally booked up in advance (especially on weekends). 

*We've recently introduced a limited take-out menu, which is available only for in-person orders, provided the kitchen has capacity. (We reserve the right to refuse large volume orders for example via delivery services like PostMates). The exception is Malasadas, for which we do take advance requests for large orders. 

*We are often  unable to answer our phone during the service, so the best way to reach us is via email, or text us via Resy if you have a confirmed reservation.

*Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate vegan or gluten intolerant diners, as many of our products are marinated in house with soy, as well as we make breads and pastries with flour in house.

āina is a Hawaiian word meaning the land which feeds us.

Aloha! ‘āina is a modern Hawaiian food concept that serves food with a distinct Hawaiian influence with a breath of the classics. Everything we serve is from the land and rooted in what the land has given to us. We cook with the seasons and with love, using fine dining techniques and local ingredients from the Bay Area as well as specially imported ingredients from Hawai'i. The ‘āina concept strives to be a love letter to the islands, by merging the attraction of Hawaiian-inspired cuisine, the warmth and hospitality of the island spirit with a refined sensibility and great service in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

RESERVATIONS

We take brunch reservations via Resy, up to 14 days in advance (reservations open up right after midnight 14 days prior to your desired date). We do not take same-day reservations.

We set aside a good number of our seats daily for walk-ins until we reach capacity, and for shorter wait times, recommend coming 1. early or later in the day on weekends, or 2. on weekdays (especially Wednesdays and Thursdays).

As a small restaurant, the largest group we can accommodate is 8 people. We strongly recommend reservations for parties of 5-8 people (credit card required to hold the reservation) as we only currently have one table large enough for a group of that size, and it is generally booked up in advance (especially on weekends). That table is not able to accommodate a high chair, though we can provide a booster seat. 

Please let us know in advance if you have any special requests, e.g. a high chair. Do note we cannot guarantee any of our dishes are completely gluten-free due to ingredients used in our kitchen and fryer.
