Our Philosophy:

āina is a Hawaiian word meaning the land which feeds us.

Aloha! ‘āina is a modern Hawaiian food concept that serves food with a distinct Hawaiian influence with a breath of the classics. Everything we serve is from the land and rooted in what the land has given to us. We cook with the seasons and with love, using fine dining techniques and local ingredients from the Bay Area as well as specially imported ingredients from Hawai'i. The ‘āina concept strives to be a love letter to the islands, by merging the attraction of Hawaiian-inspired cuisine, the warmth and hospitality of the island spirit with a refined sensibility and great service in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

RESERVATIONS

For weekday brunches and dinners, seating is available for both reservations and walk-ins.  Reservations are available 30 days in advance and release at midnight on our website through Resy. We only accept same day reservations up until the start of service (10am for weekday brunch and 530pm for dinner), after that please call us regarding availability.

Our weekend brunch is walk-ins, on a first come first serve basis only.  The exception is three bookings per service for large parties (5-8 people), available to booking online 30 days in advance, at 9am, 1045am and 1230pm. The largest group we can accommodate is 8 guests. If you do not see availability online, that means the tables are already reserved, and we suggest:

1) Adding yourself to the Notify Me list for an alert in the event of any cancellations;

2) Coming early at/before opening time to put your name down as a walk-in. There are no guarantees we can seat a larger group. (We may sometimes be able to seat a group of 5pp on a smaller table meant for 4pp but cannot guarantee it).  

Dinner: Please email us: reservations@ainasf.com for any large party bookings over 4 people (our online booking system only offers tables of up to 4 people),  or any other reservation related questions. We offer a special Family-style menu for groups over 6 people. (details upon request).

For dinner parties larger than 2 guests we require a credit card upon booking and reserve the right to apply a cancellation penalty of $25 per guest, for any cancellations or reductions in party size with less than 24 hours notice. We will hold your table for 10 minutes, so please call us if you are running late.

PRIVATE PARTIES

For private events and buy-outs, please email: reservations@ainasf.com at least 30 days in advance.  We can sometimes accomodate a partial buy-out subject to availability.

 We are closed on Monday.

SPECIAL ORDERS & TAKE OUT
We have a limited take-out menu, which is
available only for in-person orders and at our discretion. 

Large orders of malasadas may be ordered by the dozen 48 hours in advance for pick up on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings between 9am and 10am, at our discretion. Minimum order of one dozen malasada. For pre-order inquiries, please contact: reservations@ainasf.com
